Senior Server Serviceability Engineer

About the role

Designs and implements support features within servers to ensure easy maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in the field. Collaborates with product marketing to embed Serviceability and Supportability features in Marketing Requirements Documents (MRDs).

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement support features that simplify server maintenance, troubleshooting, and field repair.
• Work with product marketing to include Serviceability and Supportability requirements in MRDs.
• Partner with product development engineers to deliver Serviceability features in next‑generation server designs.
• Develop hardware and software tools for monitoring, logging, diagnostics, and fault isolation.
• Review new server designs to verify serviceability functions and meet RAS requirements before release.
• Analyze field issues to identify patterns and improve serviceability.
• Coordinate internally and with external design partners to negotiate and drive serviceability requirements.
• Assess support tools and documentation for completeness, cost‑effectiveness, and customer experience.
• Balance technical and business considerations to enhance product support and service delivery efficiency.
• Perform ROI analysis to support technical recommendations.

Required profile

• 8+ years of relevant industry experience.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years hands‑on experience in server hardware development, problem determination, support tools development, and Server Serviceability Engineering.
• 5+ years hands‑on experience with Intel x86 or AMD servers.
• 2+ years experience supporting GPUs, DPUs, x86 CPUs and ARM CPUs.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and operating systems (Windows, Linux, or VMware).
• Proven ability to develop product features and requirements for serviceability and supportability.
• 2+ years developing technical specifications in related fields.
• Strong written and oral English communication skills.
