Senior Procurement Specialist – Passive Components & Substrates

About the role

This position leads strategic sourcing and commercial management for MLCC, inductors, and embedded substrates. You will drive cost‑optimization initiatives, ensure supply continuity, and own the end‑to‑end supplier strategy for these passive components.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, LTAs, capacity agreements, and payment terms for MLCC, inductors and embedded substrates.
• Define and execute supplier strategy, selecting and allocating suppliers for the targeted commodities.
• Conduct cost‑breakdown analysis, should‑cost modeling and localization studies to reduce total cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product groups to align component readiness across NPI, ramp‑up and lifecycle phases.
• Manage capacity planning, allocation strategies and long‑term supply assurance to maintain continuity.
• Identify and mitigate supply‑chain risks such as capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure and cost volatility.
• Oversee contract governance, including MSA, NDA and pricing frameworks.
• Drive supplier performance through KPI tracking, structured reviews and continuous‑improvement actions.

Required profile

• 10+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, preferably in semiconductor or electronics.
• Fluent English; Japanese is a plus.
• Hands‑on experience with passive components (MLCC, inductors, embedded substrates) is highly valued.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and negotiation abilities.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management or program management.
