Senior Machine Learning Scientist

About the role

The ASUS Robotics & AI Center in Taipei is looking for a Senior Machine Learning Scientist. You will work with other stakeholders to turn data into new insights using statistical and/or machine learning models, and you will join a cross-functional team that owns the full software lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Use fast experimentation, iteration and exploratory data analysis to speed up time to market.
• Work with data-infrastructure engineers to build robust data infrastructure and tools.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-commented source code.
• Independently read relevant literature and share your insights with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other teams on software architecture decisions.

Required profile

• Master's degree or PhD in computer science.
• 5+ years of industry experience.
• Strong academic background in data science, statistics, machine learning and/or artificial intelligence.
• Exceptionally strong fundamentals and problem-solving skills, and strong verbal and written communication.

Required skills

• Deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
• Hands-on experience training CNN, RNN and/or graph neural networks.
• Familiarity with traditional machine learning models.
• Programming in C++, Python, JavaScript and/or Go.
• Software development best practices: coding standards, code reviews, design patterns, source control and test automation.
