Security Specialist

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Security Specialist to protect its intellectual and physical assets across multiple sites. The role supports the company’s global operations and ensures a safe environment for employees and critical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Support and enhance multi‑site security operations.
• Provide timely assistance on special assignments from supervisors.
• Protect company intellectual property and physical assets.
• Establish, manage, and maintain security systems, including access control and CCTV.
• Conduct sensitive security investigations site‑wide or corporate‑wide and guide other security personnel.
• Develop, approve, and communicate updates to investigative procedures, policies, and processes.
• Maintain liaison with security professionals, contractors, and local, state, and federal law enforcement.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in security disciplines with basic knowledge of related fields.
• Understanding of best practices and how security integrates with other business areas.
• Ability to act as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues and lead small, low‑risk projects.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of analyzing multiple information sources.
• Effective communication of sensitive information and ability to build consensus.
