Production Engineer (Process Engineer)

About the role

Air Liquide is hiring a Production Engineer in Erlin Township, Taiwan, to act as a technical resource for plant operations. The engineer optimizes plant operations, resolves plant problems and enables safe and efficient production of quality products, supporting the expansion of the Taiwan market.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of ALAM product lines, process and production efficiency, and build operating discipline for start-up, shut-down and normal operations.
• Develop training modules and systems, establish and monitor unit KPIs, and analyze root causes of issues and bottlenecks.
• Design and run improvement projects and manage small-to-medium local capital projects for efficiency, reliability, safety and product-line expansion.
• Serve as subject-matter expert for the product line and process, understand plant chemistry, process safety and HSE requirements, and establish operating procedures with knowledge transfer to operators.
• Coach plant personnel, drive a "Do It Safe, Do It Right the First Time" culture, and maintain documentation and systems.

Required profile

• BS or above in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in process, production or project engineering in chemical, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing plants.
• Ability to learn technical chemical processes quickly in a fast-paced environment and to work extended hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Experience establishing and tracking KPIs or equivalent gap-closure metrics.
• Fluent English and Mandarin; knowledge of local regulations and international standards.

Required skills

• Read and interpret P&ID diagrams.
• Preferred: Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, 5S, SPC, Lean Manufacturing, process hazard analysis (LOPA, HAZOP), PLC and process automation, and experience with highly hazardous chemicals.
