Piping Engineer – Mechanical Systems Design

About the role

The Piping Engineer will lead the design, construction and commissioning of mechanical and piping systems for industrial projects. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors and internal disciplines to ensure that all technical solutions meet quality, safety and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and interpret design and construction drawings for mechanical/piping equipment.
• Lead the design of piping systems, including chiller and process cooling water circuits.
• Prepare and obtain approval for project specifications, datasheets, calculations and method statements.
• Supervise on‑site installation, ensuring performance, safety, budget compliance and timely commissioning.
• Evaluate technical bid documents and produce recommendation reports for major equipment purchases.
• Coordinate interface requirements with other engineering disciplines and manage sub‑contractor submissions.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and attend design and project review meetings.
• Prepare technical documentation in line with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical/piping engineering for industrial facilities.
• Proven experience with projects in sectors such as semiconductors, pharmaceutical or life‑science.
• Strong knowledge of international engineering codes and standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross‑culturally.
• Valid car driving licence.
