Manager III – Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manager III to lead a district of Customer Engineers in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The role combines technical support, customer relationship management, and team leadership to ensure successful delivery of semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer relationships across the district, including regular on‑site visits.
• Manage, coach, and direct all Customer Engineers, handling salary planning, career development, performance appraisals, and mentorship programs.
• Serve as the primary interface with Product Divisions for technical support, training, spares, and reliability initiatives.
• Collaborate with the District Sales Engineer on account planning, financial forecasting, cost‑efficiency measures, and system installation projects.
• Oversee RMA procedures, track engineer hours, and implement corrective actions to improve effectiveness.

Required profile

• Provides direction and administers company policies, ensuring compliance with Applied Materials’ standards of business conduct.
• Exercises sound judgment within defined procedures to solve problems and make decisions that impact schedules and results.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills to gain cooperation and present technical information to diverse audiences.
