Linux System Administrator

About the role

The Linux System Administrator will ensure the stability, security and performance of our Linux infrastructure. You will be responsible for patching, hardening, monitoring and incident resolution while following established IT processes.

Key responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, Ubuntu, Rocky, CentOS) on physical and virtual platforms.
• Manage core services such as SSH, DNS, DHCP, NTP, LDAP/SSSD, Postfix, NFS/SMB, systemd and cron.
• Apply OS patches, kernel updates and maintain software repositories (yum/dnf/apt).
• Monitor system health and performance using tools like top, iostat, sar, vmstat, netstat and platforms such as Prometheus or Zabbix.
• Implement and test backup/restore procedures with Veeam, Bacula or NetBackup.
• Manage storage using LVM, MDADM RAID, multipath, iSCSI/FC and file systems (ext4, XFS, Btrfs).
• Harden servers according to CIS/STIG benchmarks and manage firewalls (iptables, nftables, firewalld), SELinux or AppArmor.
• Write Bash scripts and occasional Python scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Troubleshoot incidents, perform root‑cause analysis and document SOPs/runbooks.
• Support users and development teams with permissions, environment configuration and troubleshooting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent experience.
• 1–5 years of hands‑on Linux administration experience.
• Strong understanding of Linux OS fundamentals, networking, storage and filesystems.
• Experience with systemd, diagnostics and log analysis (journalctl, syslog).
• Basic knowledge of virtualization (VMware, KVM, Nutanix) or containers (Docker).
• Basic scripting skills and familiarity with Git version control.
