Junior Software Developer

About the role

Synpulse is seeking a Junior Software Developer to join its banking technology team. You will contribute to the design, development and testing of internet and mobile banking solutions for leading financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain internet banking and mobile banking applications.
• Evaluate business scenarios and propose optimal IT solutions.
• Design and document solutions using Avaloq tools and methodologies.
• Implement new functionality and maintain existing features, integrating with third‑party and core banking systems.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure end‑to‑end functionality meets requirements.
• Participate in the full project lifecycle, including solution design, coding, testing and deployment.
• Travel occasionally for training or project activities.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and structured working style.
• Interest in banking and financial services.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to learn emerging technologies.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of at least one object‑oriented programming language.
• Experience with relational databases, specifically Oracle and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, XML and CSS.
• Knowledge of the Avaloq Core Banking System (certification a plus).
• Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI concepts.
