About the role
TSMC is seeking an experienced International Assignment Tax and Immigration Specialist to lead personal income tax compliance, tax planning, and immigration support for both domestic and expatriate employees. The role ensures adherence to local and international tax and immigration regulations while providing strategic advice on cross‑border mobility.
Key responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive tax support for assignees, ensuring compliance with home and host country personal income tax laws.
- Manage tax audits, disputes, and coordinate with payroll/HR for accurate tax withholdings and reporting.
- Advise on tax implications of international assignments, including compensation restructuring and tax equalization.
- Oversee work visa and permit processes, liaising with immigration attorneys, service vendors, and government agencies.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records of employee immigration status, renewal deadlines, and extensions.
- Develop and comment on policies affecting international assignments and monitor global tax and immigration law changes.
- Prepare reports on tax exposure and immigration risk for senior management.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of experience in expatriate immigration, personal tax compliance, or HR/C&B related roles.
- Detail‑oriented with strong numeric abilities and the capacity to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex tax and immigration information clearly to stakeholders.
- Flexible, positive attitude with a can‑do mentality and ability to handle sensitive, high‑pressure situations.
- Trustworthy, accountable, and proactive in improving processes and challenging the status quo.
Required skills
- In‑depth knowledge of personal income tax legislation in multiple jurisdictions.
- Expertise in immigration regulations and work‑visa processes for cross‑border employees.
- Experience managing tax audits, disputes, and tax equalization programs.
- Ability to develop and interpret global mobility policies.
