Industrial Engineer – Semiconductor Manufacturing

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer to drive productivity and efficiency improvements in semiconductor manufacturing. The role involves applying Lean, Six Sigma, and Operations Research methods to solve complex problems and lead strategic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and participate in complex Industrial Engineering and Operations Research projects to improve semiconductor productivity and efficiency.
• Conduct current-state assessments, design and implement process improvement initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Train, mentor, and coach champions in Lean and Six Sigma tools to ensure timely project completion.
• Develop simulation models, cost, capacity, staffing, and cycle‑time models using Applied Materials software.
• Lead cost‑of‑ownership projects, engage customers to identify cost‑reduction opportunities, and develop roadmaps.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry (or 3+ years in continuous improvement).
• Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Required skills

• Lean Operations and Six Sigma (DMAIC, DFSS).
• Simulation, value‑stream analysis, business process re‑engineering.
• Operations Research modeling (cost, capacity, staffing, cycle‑time).
• Applied Materials proprietary simulation software.
