Frontend App Developer – Cross-Platform Mobile & Web

About the role

The ASUS Robotics & AI Center is looking for a Frontend App Developer to design and build responsive, high-performance cross-platform mobile and web applications for robotics customers. You will work with a global R&D team to create intuitive user interfaces that visualise real-time data and support mission-critical workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mobile and web UIs for visualising maps, location, and status data in robotics use cases.
• Design interactive Mission Control tools for creating, editing, and auto-generating robotic mission plans.
• Implement low-latency video and telemetry streaming for both mobile and web clients.
• Integrate applications with embedded hardware such as GPS/GNSS and custom radios.
• Collaborate with backend and robotics teams to optimise latency and performance of real-time data feeds.
• Maintain architectural clarity, write clean, well-tested code, and champion modern development best practices.
• Engage directly with customers to gather requirements, debug issues, and improve user experience.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing production-grade mobile and/or web applications.
• Strong customer-first mindset and ability to work in a cross-functional, global team.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Flutter and/or React Native for cross-platform development.
• Proficiency in React or Next.js for web applications.
• UI/UX design skills using tools such as Figma.
• Understanding of authentication/authorization integration.
• Experience with mobile app store submission, launch, and update processes.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, Azure, AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of application telemetry, A/B testing, and observability.
• Experience with GPS-based navigation, coordinate systems, and geospatial visualisation (plus).
• Bonus: Python, C++, Rust, or Go programming knowledge.
