Field Quality Engineer IV

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Field Quality Engineer IV to improve service quality, customer satisfaction, and equipment reliability across its semiconductor equipment portfolio. The role bridges field service, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to drive root‑cause investigations and sustainable corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze field service data, customer feedback, and equipment performance trends to identify quality improvement opportunities.
• Coach field teams on root‑cause investigations and corrective actions for escalated or recurring issues.
• Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supplier quality, and business units to resolve complex technical problems.
• Develop and track quality metrics, dashboards, and action plans to drive continuous improvement.
• Improve service documentation, lessons learned, and knowledge assets for effective troubleshooting.
• Support product introductions, ramp readiness, and field reliability improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in quality engineering, field service engineering, or related technical roles.
• Proven experience leading root‑cause investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence across functions.
