Facility Engineer – Electrical & Mechanical Systems

About the role

The Facility Engineer is responsible for operating and maintaining the plant’s critical utilities and mechanical systems, ensuring high reliability and minimal downtime. You will develop maintenance strategies, lead root‑cause investigations, and support major expansion projects while complying with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, water, drainage, fire protection and mechanical systems to minimise failures.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and lead root‑cause analysis of equipment failures.
• Monitor utility demand and equipment loading, identify risks and recommend upgrades.
• Manage work requests, emergency responses, maintenance records, drawings, permits and inspections.
• Oversee contractors and vendors, handling scope, quotations, scheduling, safety, quality and contract acceptance.
• Ensure compliance with Taiwan regulations and company standards, supporting audits.
• Analyse and improve energy, water and utility performance, set baselines and verify savings.
• Support facility modifications, factory expansions and major projects through design reviews, commissioning and handover.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Three to five years of experience in facilities or equipment maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical and facility systems.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance and root‑cause analysis.
• Project management experience including scope, schedule and cost control.
• Basic AutoCAD proficiency for facility drawings.
• Ability to read technical documents and prepare engineering reports.
• Proficiency in English for technical communication.
