Events Coordinator

About the role

The Events Coordinator supports Marriott’s sales and marketing team by handling guest inquiries, processing reservations, and promoting the brand’s image. This full‑time position works on‑site at the Taipei hotel and focuses on delivering exceptional service while driving revenue.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest calls, requests, and problems, directing them to the appropriate department.
• Apply sales techniques to maximize revenue, including up‑selling and offering complimentary gifts such as reward points or tickets.
• Process Marriott Rewards redemptions and enter reservation data into the hotel’s software system.
• Handle reservation changes, cancellations, and new bookings received via phone, fax, or mail.
• Perform general office duties for the Sales & Marketing team (filing, emailing, typing, faxing).
• Assist management in training and motivating staff, serving as a role model.
• Maintain professional appearance, confidentiality, and adherence to company policies.
• Welcome guests, anticipate service needs, and ensure a positive experience.
• Support team collaboration, monitor performance standards, and perform light physical tasks (lifting ≤10 lb).

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience in hospitality or sales.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Professional demeanor, strong communication skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
