Engineering Technician

About the role

Applied Materials is the global leader in materials science and engineering solutions that underpin virtually every new semiconductor chip and advanced display. The company creates and services equipment essential for advancing AI and next‑generation semiconductor manufacturing, and is looking for an Engineering Technician to join its Tainan site.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test, fabricate, modify, troubleshoot and assemble electronics and electro‑mechanical systems, including experimental circuitry and prototype models.
• Perform system‑level and component‑level testing of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum and process equipment on AMAT platforms, following engineering and manufacturing specifications.
• Document test procedures, compile logbooks, write technical reports and assist in developing and revising standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical input for problem resolution at both system and manufacturing levels, and train lower‑level Engineering Technicians.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of manufacturing and engineering processes with the ability to work across departmental lines.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electro‑mechanical issues and act as a technical resource for specific platforms.
• Physical capability to perform demanding tasks such as standing for long periods, working in tight spaces, and handling clean‑room PPE.
