Engineering Technician IV

About the role

Applied Materials seeks an Engineering Technician IV to perform complex electro‑mechanical functions on cutting‑edge semiconductor and display equipment. The role supports design, testing, fabrication, and field upgrades while ensuring safety and product performance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, test, checkout, fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, and assemble electronics and electro‑mechanical systems, including prototype models and specialized test equipment.
• Perform system‑level and component‑level testing on electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, vacuum, and process platforms, documenting results and recommending improvements.
• Develop and maintain test procedures, logbooks, and technical reports; assist in revising and implementing documented procedures.
• Provide technical training to lower‑level technicians and act as a quality lead when required.

Required profile

• Physical ability to stand for long periods, work in tight spaces, lift heavy items, and operate forklifts and cranes.
• Experience working in clean‑room environments and using personal protective equipment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface across departments.

Required skills

• Advanced electro‑mechanical troubleshooting.
• Vacuum equipment operation.
• 3‑ton crane operation license.
• Proficiency in creating test procedures and technical documentation.
