About the role
The Operations Director will lead HPCBU’s core business operations across Asia, overseeing sourcing, quotation, budgeting, forecasting, margin monitoring and payment matters. The role blends consulting‑style problem solving with hands‑on manufacturing experience, requiring regular factory visits and strategic recommendations to the Business Unit Head.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate general business operations across Asia, including sourcing, quotation, manufacturing, finance and forecast‑management functions, acting as an escalation point for critical issues.
- Oversee plant operations, review existing processes and implement scalable standards, governance mechanisms and decision‑making frameworks.
- Develop management dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into backlog, demand, capacity, profitability and working capital.
- Conduct frequent factory visits, perform root‑cause analysis of operational and financial issues, and ensure sustainable corrective actions.
- Coordinate demand, capacity, material and financial planning to identify supply constraints, excess inventory, revenue risks and resource requirements.
- Monitor customer and supplier payment status, terms and overdue items, managing working‑capital risks in partnership with finance, sales and supply chain.
- Lead, coach and develop sourcing, quotation and forecast‑management teams.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Business or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of operations management experience, preferably in electronics or technology manufacturing.
- Previous consulting or business transformation experience.
- Strong leadership with experience managing cross‑factory teams.
- Solid financial acumen with understanding of manufacturing cost structures, BOM cost, gross margin, EBITA, supplier pricing and quotation economics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment and willingness to travel extensively across Asia.
- Fluent English; Mandarin Chinese strongly preferred.
