Defect Insight Engineer

About the role

Micron Technology is seeking a Defect Insight Engineer to support data analytics and defect management in semiconductor manufacturing. The role focuses on yield improvement, defect source identification, and AI‑driven predictive analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Perform data analytics and yield correlation analysis.
• Conduct spatial signature analysis and defect density monitoring.
• Develop and maintain process‑health dashboards.
• Deploy AI/ML models for predictive excursion detection.
• Design defect inspection strategies and inline monitoring.
• Execute defect Pareto analysis and source identification.
• Eliminate yield detractors and reduce killer defects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or engineering.
• Basic knowledge of ASSY defect analysis for yield improvement.
• Familiarity with SPC, FDC, or data analysis tools such as JMP.

• JMP (or similar statistical analysis software).
• Statistical Process Control (SPC).
