Data Center Facility Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Data Center Facility Engineer to join the GMI Global Infrastructure Team. You will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems across our worldwide data centre portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation, maintenance, and repair of MEP systems, including HVAC, power distribution, and liquid‑cooling equipment.
• Monitor performance data to improve energy efficiency and system reliability.
• Develop and execute preventive‑maintenance programs for all MEP assets.
• Perform scheduled inspections of mechanical and electrical equipment, logging critical parameters such as temperature, voltage, and current.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system failures, coordinating vendor repairs and modifications.
• Supervise contractors performing service or preventive‑maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, system changes, and repairs, and prepare management reports.
• Collaborate with other engineering teams on facility upgrades and project execution.
• Enforce safety standards in all MEP operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of facility‑engineering experience, preferably in data centres or critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and relevant industry regulations.
• Ability to work on‑call and occasional overtime.
