Customer Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

As a Customer Engineer at Applied Materials, you will be the primary interface with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor equipment in a fast‑paced fab environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of semiconductor tools.
• Diagnose technical issues using analytical tools and standard diagnostic techniques.
• Maintain and repair electrical, mechanical, vacuum, plasma and gas systems.
• Respond to equipment issues, support escalation processes and ensure high equipment uptime.
• Communicate and coordinate effectively with customers and internal teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or related engineering fields.
• Strong interest in hands‑on technical work; no prior semiconductor experience required.
• Problem‑solving mindset with good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Fluency in English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Willingness to work shift schedules, including nights and weekends, and to relocate to Taiwan.
