Cloud Software Team Lead - SSO

About the role

As the Cloud Software Team Lead – SSO you will head the engineering team that builds and operates Ubiquiti’s Single Sign‑On platform, delivering secure authentication and authorization across the company’s cloud ecosystem. You will set technical direction, mentor engineers and work closely with product, security and infrastructure teams to create an enterprise‑grade identity service.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of engineers developing cloud‑based SSO and identity services.
• Own the technical roadmap and define the architecture for a secure, scalable, highly available platform using Python, Django and AWS.
• Design and implement authentication, authorization, federation, multi‑tenancy and account lifecycle management.
• Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, architecture reviews and testing strategies.
• Collaborate with product, security, SRE and other engineering groups to prioritize features and manage technical debt.
• Drive reliability through observability, incident response, performance optimisation and disaster‑recovery planning.

Required profile

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in a technical‑lead or team‑lead role.
• Strong hands‑on background developing backend services with Python and Django.
• Deep knowledge of modern authentication and authorization protocols such as OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SAML, SCIM and JWT.
• Proven experience designing, building and operating enterprise‑scale identity platforms on AWS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
