Strategic Sourcing Senior Manager – Supply Chain Strategy

About the role

The Senior Manager of Supply Chain Strategy will own end‑to‑end supply chain strategy for rack‑level components supporting AMD’s AI infrastructure portfolio. Partnering with engineering, product management, procurement and OEM/ODM partners, you will build a resilient, cost‑competitive supply chain that can scale with rapidly growing demand.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own a multi‑year supply chain strategy for rack components, evaluating make‑vs‑buy and direct‑vs‑distribution models.
• Lead strategic supplier selection, qualification and dual‑sourcing programs for critical commodities such as power electronics, thermal modules and cable assemblies.
• Develop inventory positioning strategies (safety stock, buffer stock, strategic reserve) for long‑lead and sole‑sourced parts.
• Embed supply chain readiness into the Helios product development lifecycle, managing supply gates for new product introductions.
• Maintain a living supply‑chain risk register, lead response to disruptions and drive geographic diversification.
• Model total landed cost, create should‑cost models and partner with engineering to influence design‑for‑supply‑chain decisions.
• Own KPI reporting and present supply chain status, risks and recommendations to AMD executive leadership.

Required profile

• 15+ years progressive supply chain experience in semiconductor, server/systems hardware or high‑technology manufacturing.
• Proven expertise in supply chain strategy for complex multi‑component hardware systems.
• Experience negotiating supplier agreements for high‑value, long‑lead commodities.
• Strong analytical foundation in demand/supply modeling, inventory optimization and should‑cost analysis.
• Track record of influencing cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
• Excellent executive communication skills and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
