Staff Board Design Engineer – PCB CAD

About the role

The Staff Board Design Engineer will translate system and architectural specifications into detailed hardware designs. You will author design specifications, create schematics, and work closely with power, signal‑integrity and layout engineers to deliver server motherboards and add‑in cards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop server motherboards and add‑in cards from concept through schematics, PCB layout/CAD, and hardware verification in the lab.
• Collaborate with BIOS/firmware teams to define I/O pin assignments and ensure accurate hardware design specifications.
• Participate in power‑on planning, board‑level testing, debugging and root‑cause analysis.
• Lead feasibility studies, prototype new technologies, and drive continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 5+ years of industry experience in high‑speed board design, including analog and digital circuit theory.
• Proven ability to create detailed design specifications and develop test plans.

Required skills

• Analog and digital circuit design.
• High‑speed signal design and power distribution techniques.
• Experience with Intel, AMD, ARM, and GPU platform architectures.
• Implementation of serial interfaces such as SAS, SATA, PCIe, InfiniBand, Fibre Channel, Ethernet.
• Memory bus design (DDR4, DDR5, HBM2) and cache‑coherent links (CCIX, GenZ, CXL).
• Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) integration.
• PCB CAD layout and hardware verification.
