Software Engineer – macOS (UniFi Drive)

About the role

Ubiquiti is looking for a macOS‑focused Software Engineer to design and build the core synchronization and metadata handling logic for UniFi Drive. You will enable reliable, intuitive file access across local and cloud environments while working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement core synchronization and metadata handling for UniFi Drive on macOS.
• Integrate file experiences with macOS system behaviors and APIs, ensuring correctness and performance.
• Tackle complex system problems such as change coordination and edge‑case handling across devices.
• Collaborate with backend and infrastructure teams on data models, APIs, and reliability.
• Work with product and design partners to translate user workflows into robust technical solutions.
• Continuously improve performance, stability, and maintainability through measurement and profiling.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience building production systems.
• Hands‑on experience developing for Apple platforms (macOS and/or iOS) and familiarity with the Apple ecosystem.
• Strong computer‑science fundamentals and ability to reason about complex system behavior.
• Proficiency in Swift or Objective‑C with focus on code correctness and maintainability.
• Experience with Git and modern collaborative development workflows.
