Software Engineer, Core Banking Platform (SRE)

About the role

This position is part of Synpulse's Core Banking Platform team and follows a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) model. You will develop monitoring, automation and support solutions for Linux and Oracle environments while ensuring the stability of Avaloq applications.

Key responsibilities

• Develop monitoring, alerting and health‑check automation for Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Oracle databases.
• Build automation and tooling using Bash/Korn shell scripts and write PL/SQL operational scripts.
• Support and maintain Avaloq applications running on Linux platforms.
• Monitor system performance, conduct health checks and provide operational support.
• Investigate incidents, troubleshoot issues and coordinate resolutions with stakeholders.
• Participate in the full project lifecycle, from implementation to post‑production support.
• Collaborate with team members on delivery and continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related field.
• Working knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and shell scripting (Bash/Korn).
• Basic experience with Oracle Database and SQL*Plus.
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, SSL/TLS).
• Familiarity with OpenShift and/or Kubernetes environments.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Chinese.
