Software Engineer 2 – Data

About the role

Microsoft’s AI R&D Center in Taiwan is expanding its Azure Multimodal Intelligence team. The team builds cloud and on‑premise AI services that automate document processing at massive scale. As a Software Engineer 2 you will contribute to highly available, secure and performant AI products serving millions of requests worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship high‑quality software that improves availability, reliability, scalability, latency, security and efficiency of Azure document‑intelligence services.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to share best practices, raise engineering standards and adopt modern data‑engineering capabilities.
• Rapidly learn new technologies, work autonomously and support continuous release and operation of production services.
• Promote an agile, innovative, customer‑focused and data‑driven culture within the team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of professional experience writing code in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python.
• Proven track record of building and shipping production services and data pipelines (ETL/ELT, data models, analytical solutions).
• Ability to multitask, balance short‑term and long‑term priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
