Senior Manager, Inventory Planning & Management

About the role

The Instock team is a critical team in Coupang, managing inventory to build and maintain new selection while controlling costs such as overstock. The team works closely with cross‑functional partners including business/vendor managers, supply chain, product, program and finance to deliver a world‑class e‑commerce shopping experience.

Key responsibilities

• Work backwards from customer and vendor needs to deliver the right inventory at the right time and place.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to exceed customer in‑stock and vendor requirements.
• Drive growth by ensuring desired items are always in‑stock and sufficiently stocked.
• Partner with vendors to optimize lead‑time, fill‑rate and other key metrics.
• Utilize data to prioritize high‑impact actions that deliver business results.
• Dive deep to identify root causes, develop solutions and implement fixes.
• Manage ordering processes and systems to balance competing business priorities.
• Guide development of processes and controls for forecasting, inbound and inventory management systems, continuously improving capabilities.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in demand forecasting, ordering, procurement, inventory management and supply chain.
• Bachelor’s degree in a supply‑chain‑related field.
• Proven ability to partner with vendors to achieve business outcomes.
• Excellent oral and written communication with strong attention to detail and ability to influence without authority.
• Passion for growth, taking on increasing responsibility and challenges.
• Ability to set high standards, drive excellence and own results.
• Strong data analysis skills; advanced Excel proficiency required, SQL a plus.
• Experience collaborating with sales and operations stakeholders; e‑commerce or retail background preferred.
