Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design

About the role

The Senior Lead Engineer, Hardware Design partners with cross‑functional teams—including designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership—to deliver robust, high‑quality hardware solutions. You will drive both electrical and mechanical system development, support manufacturing, and ensure compliance with Celestica and customer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, development and implementation of electrical and mechanical hardware across multiple domains.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and act as the go‑to expert for specific technical areas.
• Interpret customer requirements, negotiate specifications and feed back design improvements.
• Create schematics, bills of material, 3D models, drawings and detailed documentation.
• Support the manufacturing process, liaise with suppliers, contractors and internal teams, and manage vendor relationships.

Required profile

• 4–6 years of experience in hardware design engineering (electrical and/or mechanical).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work on‑site in Taipei, Taiwan, with occasional travel.

Required skills

• Electrical schematic creation and Bill of Materials (BOM) management.
• Mechanical 3D modeling and simulation using CAD tools.
• Thermal, structural and tolerance analysis.
• Design for Excellence (DFx) review processes.
• Preparation of technical drawings, calculations and manufacturing documentation.
