Senior HVAC Project Engineer

About the role

JCI is hiring a Senior HVAC Project Engineer in Taipei to lead the full cycle of HVAC and building services projects, from planning, design and procurement through installation, testing and commissioning and handover. The role coordinates all project activities so that delivery is on time, within budget and compliant with contractual and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise project teams on design, installation, testing and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Plan, manage and control scope, schedule, cost, resources and risks to meet contractual objectives.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors and internal teams, and prepare and review technical submissions, drawings, reports, proposals and consultant comments.
• Monitor site progress against the construction programme and quality and safety requirements.
• Develop project plans including WBS, schedules, risk and issue logs and resource planning.
• Manage procurement, equipment selection, material ordering and delivery schedules, and oversee subcontractors and installation vendors.
• Manage project financials including cost control, billing, cash flow and collections.
• Ensure document control, QA/QC procedures and calibration of test equipment are implemented, and support pre-sales and post-sales activities.
• Provide progress reporting, attend site meetings and ensure EHS compliance.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-5 years of relevant experience in HVAC or building services projects (more expected for a senior role).
• Solid knowledge of HVAC systems; BMS knowledge is an advantage.
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
• Taiwan construction business-related safety manager certifications.
• LEED AP, HVAC engineer license or related certification is a plus.

Required skills

• AutoCAD, MS Office and MS Project; BIM knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong project management, planning and coordination skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and write professional reports.
