Senior Application Developer – XCT

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Application Developer to work on the XCT (X‑ray Computed Tomography) platform in Hsinchu. You will design and optimise tomography recipes, collaborate with customers and business units, and drive algorithmic improvements for high‑value semiconductor and display applications.

Key responsibilities

• Create x‑ray tomography recipes (accelerating voltage, slant angle, number of projections) that optimise throughput and image quality for critical customer problems.
• Identify system‑level gaps such as detector readout or geometry constraints and communicate findings to the business unit.
• Test new algorithms with customer data sets, evaluate development paths, and contribute to additional algorithm and script development.
• Serve as a technical systems expert, debugging EPICS controllers and resolving Linux‑related challenges.
• Partner with business units and customers to design Experiments of Design (DOE) for tasks like dose reduction and dose monitoring.
