Process Support Engineer - Inline 3D X-ray

About the role

As a Process Support Engineer you will guide the inline 3D X‑ray inspection tool through its full lifecycle, from concept to qualification, providing on‑site support at semiconductor fabs. You will work closely with customers and R&D teams to develop advanced packaging inspection processes and troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (≈75% of time) to install, diagnose, and repair the inline 3D X‑ray system.
• Design and execute hypothesis experiments and Design of Experiments (DOE) for advanced packaging inspection.
• Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and compile technical reports.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on hardware, software, and process excursions.
• Collaborate with remote engineering, service teams, and sales to negotiate process specifications and present project results.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physics, materials engineering, electrical engineering, optoelectronics or related field.
• 2–4 years experience in semiconductor fab or equipment industry.
• Proficiency in English communication; Mandarin is a plus.
• Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.

Required skills

• Python for scientific data acquisition and instrument control.
• Linux and Windows operating environments.
• EPICS (or similar distributed control system).
• Statistical analysis tools such as JMP, SPC, MATLAB, Mathematica.
• Design of Experiments (DOE) methodology.
• Knowledge of X‑ray technology, synchrotron instrumentation, and semiconductor process tools.
