Principal Security Firmware Architect

About the role

As a leader in Security Firmware Architecture, you will drive balanced, scalable, and automated solutions for embedded systems. Your expertise in software systems engineering will be critical for product development, definition, and root‑cause resolution.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of secure embedded firmware solutions.
• Develop and implement security microarchitectures using advanced cryptographic techniques.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional hardware and software teams to integrate security features and ensure compliance with standards such as Secure Boot, SPDM, TCG DICE and NIST 800‑193.
• Conduct security assessments, threat modeling and vulnerability mitigation for firmware designs.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive adoption of secure coding practices, static and dynamic analysis tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (MS preferred with 10+ years experience).
• 12+ years of experience in Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) development, secure architecture and tools.
• Extensive embedded firmware development experience, both bare‑metal and OS‑based (RTOS, embedded Linux, U‑boot).
• Proven ability to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in embedded systems.
• Strong communication and leadership skills in a collaborative environment.

Required skills

• Embedded protocols: I2C, I3C, SPI, USB, PCIe.
• Cryptographic algorithms and protocols: SHA, ECC, HMAC, AES, PKI, certificates.
• Security microarchitecture design and implementation.
• Static and dynamic analysis tools such as Coverity; code composition tools like Black Duck.
• Secure Boot, SPDM, Root of Trust, TCG DICE, NIST 800‑193 standards.
• Baseboard Management Controllers, Redfish, PLDM, Yocto, OpenBMC.
• Board schematics and data‑sheet interpretation.
