Mission Critical Telecom Design Engineer

About the role

WSP is looking for a Telecom Design Engineer to lead mission‑critical design work for railway communication systems, ensuring sustainability and reliability throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prepare drawings, BOQ specifications, and design basis notes for IP‑MPLS, LTE railway, OFC networks, emergency control communication, and related telecom equipment such as CBTC, ETCS, and GSM‑R.
• Produce concept and outline design proposals, perform analysis and calculations for signaling and telecommunication components, and ensure designs meet sustainability goals.
• Conduct site surveys, develop SIP and cable route plans, coordinate gear shifting, and provide continuous feedback to consultants and clients on project status.

Required profile

• Experience preparing tender documents, BOQs and phasing designs from preliminary to construction stages.
• Proven ability to liaise with clients, understand their requirements and deliver optimal telecom solutions for railways.
