Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to solve complex mechanical problems, design custom tooling, and support the full product life‑cycle of semiconductor equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot difficult mechanical issues with limited supervision.
• Develop, design, and modify mechanical layouts, schematics, and specifications.
• Design and implement custom tooling, fixturing, and processes for handling, assembly, and disassembly of components.
• Coordinate procurement and assembly of mechanical components, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• 4‑7 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to perform engineering analysis and lead projects with limited supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics, sheet‑metal design, material selection, and manufacturing methods.
• Experience with GD&T, flow analysis, and Design for Excellence principles.
