Global Supply Chain Manager

About the role

Commodity Managers partner with engineering teams to ensure Google has the necessary supplies and equipment to bring innovative hardware products to production. In this Global Supply Chain Manager role you will leverage deep industry knowledge and strategic supplier relationships to optimise total cost of ownership for Google’s worldwide infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage critical supplier relationships and establish secure dual‑sourcing pipelines, especially for geopolitically sensitive raw materials.
• Develop and execute supply‑chain diversification strategies to guarantee uninterrupted supply for next‑generation hardware platforms.
• Build analytical models that reconcile demand forecasts with supplier capacities and proactively resolve allocation gaps.
• Synthesize hardware demand forecasts against tier‑1 fab and sub‑tier material capacities to inform executive decisions.
• Collaborate with hardware design, Design for Manufacturability, quality and finance teams to align technology roadmaps with sourcing strategies.
• Drive cost modelling and total cost of ownership optimisation across the supply base.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in procurement and supply‑chain management, preferably in the electronics industry.
• Proven experience managing supplier relationships, capacity planning and performance tracking for high‑technology products.
• Advanced analytical proficiency in demand‑supply matching, scenario modelling and mitigation of component shortages.
• Ability to design and implement dual‑sourcing or similar risk‑mitigation pipelines.
