Firmware Manager - Audio

About the role

Lead and mentor an audio firmware team responsible for the architecture and technical direction of gaming peripheral products. The role oversees audio protocol development, DSP control, codec integration and latency optimization while collaborating with hardware and acoustic teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan tasks, provide technical guidance and manage performance of the audio firmware team.
• Own audio firmware architecture, define technical direction and ensure on‑time delivery aligned with NPI schedules.
• Develop and maintain audio protocols (USB, Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz wireless), DSP control, codecs and latency optimization.
• Collaborate with hardware and acoustic groups on bring‑up, tuning and validation of audio systems.
• Drive firmware quality through code reviews, debugging, root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement.
• Generate FRDs, test protocols and coordinate validation strategies with the Validation team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of embedded firmware development experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or management role.
• Strong background in audio firmware for consumer or gaming devices.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced consumer electronics environment.

Required skills

• Embedded firmware development for MCUs/SoCs, RTOS and DSPs.
• Audio protocols such as USB Audio, Bluetooth Audio and 2.4 GHz wireless.
• Low‑level driver development and audio concepts (sampling, latency, synchronization, echo cancellation, noise processing).
• CI/CD tools for embedded systems (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Power profiling and energy‑aware design tools.
