Field Service Engineer – Power Systems

About the role

Join Hitachi Energy as a Field Service Engineer and become the technical expert for our power‑system portfolio. You will work on‑site across Taiwan, installing, commissioning and maintaining high‑value equipment while ensuring customer satisfaction and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on‑site installation, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of transformers, switchgear, power‑quality solutions and control systems.
• Carry out routine and preventative maintenance to maximise equipment efficiency and lifespan.
• Diagnose complex electrical and mechanical issues, provide effective solutions and restore system functionality promptly.
• Deliver technical support and training to customers on operation, maintenance and safety procedures.
• Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate equipment records.
• Collaborate with sales, project management and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies and quality standards.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and respond to emergency service requests as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of field service, installation or maintenance experience with power systems or industrial automation.
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits, power electronics, control systems and relevant industry standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in Mandarin Chinese and English.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively within Taiwan and occasionally abroad.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging field environments.
