Field Sales Engineer – Food and Pharma

About the role

The Field Sales Engineer is responsible for concluding direct sales of Alfa Laval products and services within a defined territory, handling customer inquiries, identifying needs, and converting qualified leads into orders.

Key responsibilities

• Handle regular inquiries and reply to customers on time.
• Investigate and identify parts or products required by customers.
• Communicate and coordinate with customers to confirm demand.
• Nurture market‑qualified leads and convert them to orders.
• Develop and actively follow up complex, value‑based quotes.
• Promote and sell Alfa Laval products and services.
• Proactively seek upselling opportunities.
• Utilise business tools such as CRM, ERP, Microsoft Power BI and Office.
• Develop and execute sales plans and strategies to achieve targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food, Chemical, Mechanical, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering or a related field.
• B2B sales experience in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, biotechnology or process equipment (fresh graduates with strong potential may be considered).
• Experience in technical, solution or project sales is an advantage.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
• Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to collaborate across teams and travel for customer visits.
• Willingness to learn, proactive, results‑oriented and customer‑focused.
• Capable of working independently, prioritising tasks and performing under pressure.
• Trustworthy, reliable and able to maintain confidentiality.
