Director of Sales & Marketing

About the role

Capella Hotels & Resorts is launching a new luxury property in Taipei and seeks a visionary Director of Sales & Marketing to lead the commercial launch and long‑term growth. Reporting to the Guidance Team, the role combines strategic oversight of sales, marketing and reservations to maximise revenue and brand presence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute integrated sales and marketing strategies to drive room revenue, market share and brand awareness.
• Analyse competitor activity, economic trends and market data to create effective “sell‑against” tactics.
• Manage the division’s budget, monitor expenses and optimise ROI while preventing cost overruns.
• Collaborate with the Revenue Leader on rate strategies across all market segments.
• Lead the sales team to achieve or exceed annual targets and represent the hotel at key trade shows and client visits.
• Work with corporate sales offices to ensure a coordinated global sales effort.
• Partner with marketing communications to build global brand visibility through media channels and strategic partnerships.
• Drive guest loyalty initiatives to increase repeat business.
• Oversee reservations to deliver world‑class service and upsell opportunities.
• Provide promotional support to Food & Beverage and Spa to boost non‑room revenue.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of senior sales and marketing experience in luxury hospitality.
• Deep knowledge of the global luxury travel market and the Taipei/Asia‑Pacific landscape.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams across sales, marketing and reservations.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with fluency in English and Mandarin.
