Director, Global Banking & Network Partnerships

About the role

EMQ is seeking a senior leader to own the strategic development and commercial management of its global payment network. Based in Hong Kong, Shanghai or Taipei, you will drive the expansion of banking, settlement and payment partnerships across more than 200 markets.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the network strategy, identifying priority markets, infrastructure gaps and redundancy requirements.
• Build and maintain senior relationships with banks, financial institutions, payment providers and other network partners.
• Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, FX, settlement structures, service levels and partnership terms.
• Develop and optimise global banking and settlement infrastructure, including account structures, funding models and partner lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with Treasury to improve liquidity, funding efficiency and network resilience.
• Manage end‑to‑end market expansion, from assessment and partner selection to onboarding, integration and go‑live.
• Own network economics, improving unit economics, margins, pricing competitiveness and service quality.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives with Product, Treasury, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Technology.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global banking, payments or fintech partnership development.
• Proven track record of negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to identify and close infrastructure gaps.
• Demonstrated leadership of cross‑functional teams in fast‑moving environments.
• Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders across multiple regions.
