China Social Media Manager

About the role

We are seeking a China Social Media Manager to grow our presence on Douyin, WeChat, and RedNote (Xiaohongshu). The role focuses on localisation, platform management, publishing and community engagement, turning existing English content into natural Mandarin that resonates with each platform’s audience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and publish content across Douyin, WeChat and RedNote (Xiaohongshu).
• Translate and adapt English social‑media copy into engaging Mandarin, tailoring tone and style for each platform.
• Create and optimise captions, hashtags and platform‑specific copy.
• Handle scheduling, posting and basic community interactions.
• Advise on content adaptation, account setup, verification and China‑specific platform requirements.
• Monitor trends, flag cultural considerations and recommend best‑practice formats.

Required profile

• Resume in English.
• Proven ability to translate and localise English content into natural Mandarin.
• Hands‑on experience publishing on Douyin, WeChat and/or RedNote (Xiaohongshu).
• Strong understanding of Chinese social‑media trends, audiences and content conventions.
• Familiarity with China‑specific account setup and verification processes.
• Excellent written communication in both English and Mandarin.
• Detail‑oriented, able to manage publishing schedules accurately and work independently.

What we offer

• Part‑time engagement (≈10 hours per week) with the possibility to expand.
• Compensation ranging from $1,000 to $1,500 USD per month, based on experience.
