Capital Project Manager – TAI Plant

About the role

Albemarle is looking for a Capital Project Manager to lead projects at its TAI plant in Taichung. The role is responsible for the complete project lifecycle – from concept development and front‑end studies through engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand‑over – ensuring alignment with site strategy, regulatory requirements and corporate standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from inception to commissioning, meeting technical, financial and operational targets.
• Coordinate with Business, Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain and Finance to align project scope and schedule.
• Provide engineering oversight, review designs and ensure compliance with industry codes and best practices.
• Develop and manage capital budgets, track expenditures and implement cost‑saving measures.
• Create and maintain detailed project schedules, identify risks and apply mitigation plans.
• Identify project risks, lead mitigation strategies and ensure safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee procurement, negotiate contracts and manage vendor performance throughout the project.
• Prepare executive‑level updates, maintain accurate documentation and ensure transparent communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience managing capital projects in chemical, petrochemical or related process industries.
• Proven track record delivering multi‑million‑dollar brown‑field projects.
