Business Development Manager

About the role

As the Business Development Manager for Taiwan, Hong Kong and China, you will drive growth of Boku’s Direct Carrier Billing and Local Payment Methods businesses. You will manage existing partners, improve payment operations and identify new partnership opportunities across carriers, e‑wallets, banks and fintech firms.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations, issue resolution and performance tracking for existing DCB and LPM partners.
• Maintain and grow relationships with merchants and payment partners to increase transaction volume.
• Identify and research new partnership opportunities, negotiate commercial terms and support new merchant launches.
• Collaborate with product, tech, compliance, risk and finance teams to optimise payment flows, API integrations and settlements.
• Monitor regulatory updates, market trends and competitor activity, delivering actionable insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, partnerships or payment operations, preferably in fintech or digital payments.
• Proven experience working with carriers, e‑wallets, PSPs, banks or fintech platforms in Greater China.
• Strong analytical, research and project‑management capabilities.

Required skills

• Deep understanding of Taiwan, Hong Kong and China payment ecosystems, including DCB, e‑wallets and local methods such as WeChat Pay, Alipay and UnionPay.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin, able to communicate with regional partners and internal teams.
• Ability to negotiate commercial terms and drive partner performance.
