Assistant Cost Manager – Cost Management

About the role

Turner & Townsend, a global professional services company with over 22,000 people in more than 60 countries, is hiring an Assistant Cost Manager in Taipei. You will support the Commission Manager in project delivery and assist in cost management activities, working on a wide range of projects of all sizes.

Key responsibilities

• Project support and coordination: background research, data collection and benchmarking; estimating and producing cost plans for the cost management team
• Tendering: compiling and amending the tender list, analysing tenders and drafting tender reports
• Assist the cost manager in preparing procurement documentation
• Variations and change control: negotiate less significant or complex matters and conduct cost checks and valuations
• Final accounts: help prepare them and monitor progress on cost management
• Reporting and documentation: track progress, draft monthly cost reports and manage cost documentation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Cost Management, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Engineering or a related field; master's degree is a plus
• At least 2 years' experience in cost management or construction projects (e.g. cost manager, construction manager, procurement, project manager, vendor, consultant)
• Native-level Chinese and business-level English
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

Required skills

• Foundation in quantity surveying, tools and methodologies is a plus
• Proficiency in Cost-X or equivalent cost estimation software is a plus
