Software Engineer, Connectivity

About the role

Google is looking for a Software Engineer to work on the Bluetooth stack of its open‑source Fuchsia operating system. The role involves building secure, reliable, and flexible connectivity features that power millions of smart displays and future hardware.

Key responsibilities

• Implement new Bluetooth profiles using Rust.
• Develop APIs that enable applications to connect and communicate with Bluetooth devices.
• Integrate Bluetooth functionality with networking, media, and input layers at the system level.
• Manage end‑to‑end integration and certification testing.
• Collaborate with audio and other subsystem teams to deliver next‑generation low‑energy audio capabilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience in C++ or Rust (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
• Experience with Bluetooth, other wireless technologies, or networking.
• Working knowledge of Rust and C++.
• Experience developing software throughout the full lifecycle from concept to release and updates.
