About the role
Google’s Pixel team is seeking a Software Engineer to lead Brownout Mitigation efforts. You will develop Battery Current Limit (BCL) software, bring up new platforms, and support devices already in the market, ensuring reliable performance under power constraints.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement mitigation strategies for brownout events across SoC, audio, display, and modem components.
- Collect and characterize data to inform software solutions and validate their effectiveness.
- Create test cases, documentation, and validation procedures for mitigation features.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in system architecture, silicon, platform, and hardware engineering.
- Support hardware bring‑up, prototype debugging, and in‑market device troubleshooting.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of software development experience in C or C++.
- Experience with embedded systems and hardware prototype bring‑up.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.
