Linux System Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Linux System Engineer to join our data‑center team. The role focuses on the administration, troubleshooting and optimisation of Red Hat Linux servers in a clustered environment, while supporting related infrastructure technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot Red Hat Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Provision, build, upgrade and maintain Linux servers across the data centre.
• Manage clustered environments, including package creation, failover and failback procedures.
• Perform daily health checks and monitoring of critical systems.
• Support data‑center operations such as rack installation, server mounting, hardware planning, deployment and implementation.
• Coordinate with vendors and customers to deliver smooth service and resolve incidents.
• Execute on‑site, hands‑on support during planned maintenance windows.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Red Hat Linux administration and server troubleshooting.
• Proven background in server provisioning, build, upgrade and maintenance activities.
• Experience working in clustered environments and managing failover/failback.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server administration, VMware virtualization, storage and backup technologies.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management) and IT asset management.
