Engineer II – Applications (Customer‑Facing Deployment)

About the role

Our Applications Engineers are technical, customer‑facing problem solvers who deploy Shield AI’s Hivemind software in real‑world environments. The role involves close collaboration with customers to understand requirements, provide support during integration, and work with internal engineering teams to develop new autonomy capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Deploy on‑site globally (≈50% travel) to support software integration and development.
• Become an expert user of the Hivemind enterprise software stack and its autonomy modules.
• Provide technical support and training to customers on Hivemind usage.
• Develop AI and autonomy applications using Shield AI’s SDK.
• Assist sales with pre‑sales demos, conferences, and immersions.
• Support post‑sales deployment and integration of enterprise software products.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
• Help customers debug software/API integration issues.
• Collaborate with product engineering to incorporate customer feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years industry experience, OR Master’s degree with 1+ year experience.
• Strong technical background in software engineering.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in modern C++ programming.
• Experience with software integration and debugging of APIs.
